Questions?

Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.

If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

  • I am located in downtown Ann Arbor in a beautiful historic building!

    202 E. Washington St. Suite 400 A2. Ann Arbor MI 48104

I also provide telehealth for clients throughout the State of Michigan as well as Georgia!

  • Yes! I provide in person session in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I do provide telehealth sessions for clients throughout the state of Michigan if you want to work with me but you are not close to Ann Arbor.

For Georgia clients I only provide telehealth sessions.

  • Therapy offers a safe space to acknowledge and work through difficult emotions, painful past experiences, current life stressors or challenges, and to gain personal insight. Therapy provides a safe space to develop healthy and effective coping skills and life skills to create meaningful and lasting change in your life. The progress made in therapy depends on the therapist and client relationship and the level of commitment a client gives to that process.

  • All clients start with an initial intake assessment, the cost is $200 for 60-80 minutes. Then all individual sessions are $150 for a 45-50 minute session. Group and Meal Support services vary from $50-$75 depending on duration and number of group members.

All major credit cards are accepted for payment. Payments are made via the client portal.

My services are self pay only and I do not accept insurance for payment; however, upon request I will provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to speak with a representative for details regarding out-of-network provider reimbursement for your specific plan.

  • The first session is an intake assessment. We will review policies, procedures, client information, and discuss any questions you may have regarding intake forms. We discuss your history (mental health, medical, family, social support, and so forth). We will review your primary concerns and symptoms you are currently experiencing and what ultimately led you to seek therapy. We will discuss some goals to work on in our sessions that will be reviewed regularly throughout treatment. Just remember it is okay to share things when you are ready. If I ask a question during the intake and you are not ready to talk about it, that is okay and we will get to it when you are ready.

  • After the intake session, all additional sessions are 45-50 minutes long. Most clients usually start out with weekly sessions for a little while then transition to bi-weekly or once a month as they begin to recognize improvements. Our sessions usually begin with a check in to see how things are going or go over any questions. Clients will usually lead the session by discussing how they are feeling or anything that came up that week they would like to process.

  • I completely understand!! It is more common than people think too. Sometimes, we have a lot going on and we want to process but we struggle to find the words to do so. I love to include art and journaling prompts in sessions as well. This is a great way for you to process anything that is coming up for you in a safe space while giving you the opportunity to discuss it if you are comfortable. I enjoy playing music in sessions while clients are working on their art or journaling and will work alongside you until you are ready to talk. It is my experience that clients find this very helpful to give them time to think about what they want to discuss and to take their time.

  • - With the new No Surprise Act, you have the right to receive a “good faith estimate” at the start of services that explains how much your medical care will cost.

    - Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and/or services.

    - You have the right to receive a good faith estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

    - Make sure your health care provider gives you a good faith estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider and any other provider you choose, for a good faith estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    - If you receive a bill that is $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill

    - Make sure to save a copy of your GFE.

    - For more information about your right to a GFE, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059

  • I am not available after business hours and I respond to contacts within 2 business days. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are someone with current crisis symptoms and requires a therapist who is available for frequent access, I will not be a good fit for what you are seeking.
