MEET LISA VINCENT, AN EATING DISORDER & TRAUMA THERAPIST IN ANN ARBOR, MI
It is time to believe you have better days ahead.
Do you feel exhausted, overwhelemed, and at a loss how to move forward? Are you ready to find joy in life again and move forward in your life with self-compassion?
You’re in the right place.
As we navigate the twists and turns of daily life, sometimes the weight of our thoughts can feel overwhelming. That’s where therapy comes in, a space to untangle the knots in our mind and seek clarity.
It’s not always easy to talk about our struggles, especially when they involve difficult emotions like shame, anxiety, self-doubt or guilt. But if you are struggling with your relationship with food, body image, stress, anxiety, or trauma, know that you are not alone. Maybe you are a college student trying navigate this big life transition and just need someone to validate the struggles you are facing and help you cope with the changes you are experiencing. You might be a parent of a teen or college student fighting and eating disorder and not sure how to go through this process. If you are in the health care profession and just need a space to talk about what you are going through and to sit with someone who will listen, you are not alone and deserve a space to let it out. Whatever you are going through or stage of life you are in, just know that with the right support you can learn to overcome these challenges and build a life that honors your values.
It is time for you to feel safe, secure, and confident to move forward and shift from survival mode to living your life.
feel like “you” again
I can help you find relief from anxiety, combat perfectionism, and learn to thrive.
Therapy is a place for you to feel comfortable being your true self!
The therapy process is different for everyone and you will move through it at your own pace. First, we will take some time to get to know each other and build a safe connection. Then we will focus on identifying your needs and goals that you want to work on. Just know that it is okay to bring up experiences or emotions when you feel ready to, if I bring something up in session and you are not ready to go there yet, that is ok!! We will process what you need to at your own pace when you are ready. As your therapist I am there to guide you and support you on your recovery or healing journey.

My core values
In therapy, it’s not just about finding a quick solution to a problem. It’s about having a holistic approach that aims to improve the overall well-being of the individual. My core values in therapy are important because they provide a foundation for building trust and creating a safe space where clients can share their deepest thoughts and emotions. Aligning actions and intentions with these values, allows me to create an environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their healing journey.
Authenticity
Authenticity in therapy sessions is paramount. Without it, the process can feel disingenuous and unproductive. Sometimes a good laugh can be just the thing to break through a client’s defenses and bring them closer to self awareness. Being authentic in sessions is the willingness to be honest, genuine, and real with clients.
Empathy
As a therapist the most powerful tool in my toolkit is empathy. By offering genuine understanding of my client’s experiences and emotions, I can create a safe and nurturing space for them. Empathy is listening, tuning in to body language, and offering compassionate responses. And once you get to know me you will appreciate the little bit of humor I tend to include into our sessions to help break down barriers and build a genuine sense of trust.
Connection
Therapy sessions are more than just a one-hour appointment. It is a connection between the therapist and client that can change someone’s life. When you walk into the room, you are not just discussing your problems, you are creating a space where vulnerability and healing can begin. It is important to me to create that safe space to foster a genuine connection with my clients.
